On Friday we had a guest speaker who spoke to us about how she became successful. The speaker was Michelle. She is 32 years old and works for Niu FM in Manukau City. She is a sound engineer and a stand up comedian. The minute she walked through the door she made us laugh with one of her jokes. She is a Cook Islander but her dad is English. Michelle went to university and studied hard so that she could work for a radio station. She told us that it is hard to get job to work on the radio. She wants to be the CEO of Niu FM so she works really hard so that she can become the CEO. We asked her a lot of questions like If she likes to read and if she wanted to work for the radio when she was young. When she was growing up she had always liked entertainment and that was a career she wanted to be apart of. She told us later on about her family she has two children and two dogs and is a single mum. She likes to embarrass her children but her mum likes to do the same thing to her. At work she works with a lot of Pacific Islanders because it is a Pacific Island radio station. She gets to meet a lot of celebrities and most of them are kiwi. To me Michelle is an inspiration to people who want to be successful because she is successful.
I am a Year 8 at St Pius X Catholic School in Auckland. I am in Room 7 and my Teacher is Mrs Tui.

Description
Usain Bolt is an athlete who competes in the Olympics in the 100 metre sprint.Bolt has moves that he does at the end of every run I see him as a very confident person. Usain looks very fit and healthy. Before he runs he does the sign of the cross.
Usain Bolt has dark brown skin and very short hair. Bolt is also Jamaican. The colours he wears at the Olympics are green, yellow and black. Usain is sponsored so that is where he gets his clothes to wear in the Olympics. I am not sure who he is sponsored by.
Right now Bolt is the fastest man alive with a personal and world record of just over 9 seconds in the 100 metre sprint. Bolt is as fast as cheetah. When I grow I want to be like Bolt but I want to represent New Zealand.

Catholic schools day
Today was Catholic schools day and St Josephs school from Orakei came to celebrate it with us.They arrived at our school at 11 am and we had a mass with them.We sang some songs and some people went up to the front and said a reading. They also came along with their priest Father terry.
When I saw them waiting to go into the church I was surprised, because they were'nt much like our school. We had mostly Samoans and Tongans but they had mixed cultures. After the mass was finished we all had lunch together with them and we were paired up with a class room 1.Room 1 was a year six class.I met some people like Dominic,Ken and Marlon.During lunch I played rugby with some kids from St Pius and some kids from St Josephs.
After lunch we all went to the hall for a concert.Their whole school sang Count On Me by Bruno Mars.We sang I’m yours and we sang a Tongan song. There kapa haka group performed a Maori song it was really nice.I really enjoyed having them come to our school.

Learning to summarise with key words
Josef Azam is a man who went from struggling with money to being a very successful man. He worked three jobs just to pay his money for uni, that shows a lot of determination and perseverance. He grew up in an area where people had money but he did'nt. A lot of people said he was just lucky but to him luck has nothing to do with it and that is true. To be successful you have sacrifice everything and never even think about giving up. Everyone tells him he has achieved success but he would love to achieve greatness. But when you become successful you should never forget your past because that is the one thing that will push you. That is just one story about someone who is a inspiration to everyone.
