Term 1 week 3

What are some of the difficulties you have when you try to pray?

1. before I go to sleep I pray and when I am in the middle of praying my sister will be playing loud music or my mum will be shouting at someone and it kind of stops me.

What is the Maori word for prayer?

2. The maori word for prayer is Karakia/Inoi

What is the best way for you to pray?

3. I like it when I pray with my whole family and before we start  we usually forgive someone like our parents for something we did then we begin our prayer.

Who helps you to pray?

4. My Grandma, She always tells me to thank god for everything and always teaches me a new prayer every now and then.

How do other people pray?

5. Some ways of praying is doing a traditional prayer like Our Father or the Rosary

Basketball

On Tuesday we had Basketball for P.E.It was a sunny tuesday morning and the weather was fine . Our coach was vinny he taught us some skills for us to use while we play. As a warm up we had to jog around the court, then he taught us how to do jump stops and pivots we had to run jump then put our hands out as if we are going to catch the ball. When we perfected that we had to learn how to do a pivot we had to move one leg and keep one leg still and turn to a certain direction. While doing this I nearly fell over and accidentally walked off because I thought he told us to walk to the fence. I thought it looked easy but it wasn’t. We were told to pair up I paired up with Ezra we had to do bongo drums, dribbling, pivots and more Ezra and I made a lot of mistakes but I really enjoyed it. Just for fun at the end we got to play a game where we had to run in groups of three around the pole then grab a ball and get the ball in  two hoops and the first team to finish won and it was girls vs boys.I was so nervous questions rushed through my head. What if i can’t get the ball in the hoop?

What if I fall in front of everyone? But  then I remembered we  were just here to have fun. I tried my best to play fairly and to enjoy myself. I am really looking forward to playing again next week.

Holiday recount

In the holidays we do a lot of things and there are a lot of moments we remember. Our Happy,Boring,Scary and Fun moments. Well these are some things in the holidays I did.

One of the most happiest times I had In the holidays was when my family exchanged gifts. It was the 25th of December the sun was faintly shining behind the clouds. My family came together and prayed then we opened our presents, I loved it when my family smiled and thanked me when I gave them a present because it made me feel good.

Not only do we have happy times we also have boring times, most of the time I had to look after my grandma, yes It was boring but I have to respect my elders and I owe her for everything she has done for me. I had to make her food, fold her clothes and help her with things she can’t do on her own.

Ever since I moved up to Auckland I begged and begged my mum to go Rainbows End . One day during the holidays she surprised me and told me I was going to go. The weather was excellent and I was excited to go. When we arrived my mum,sister and I got straight to it we went on the the Gold rush, The fear fall and my favourite The Invader. My experience on the invader was quite funny I laughed at people who were scared and how scared they looked. I felt like I was going to have a heart attack my heart was pumping so fast It felt like it was going to just POP. That was an amazing day and truly the most fun experience I have had.

Just before school was about to begin I watched two horror movies Insidious 1 and 2 they both scared me at points and also made me laugh because of how funny some of the characters looked. I watched this with my sister Lupe and my cousin Latai , We laughed,Screamed and tried to distract ourselves by going on our phones. Personally It wasn’t the scariest movie I have watched but it gave me a good fright.

In my opinion it had been one of the most best holidays I have experienced and I wish It could happen all over again.
