Kitten Narrative

Once there was a kitten who had white and orange fur. His name was stripes, one day Stripes walked outside looking for things he had on his list. There was a pool, a tree with lots of shade and a small shiny red ferrari. Stripes decided to hop in his old mini van and drive to town to look for the items. While he was driving there was a annoying little kid in a yellow hummer who kept trying to shove him off the road. It got so annoying, so stripes picked up a water bowl from the back of his car and threw it at the little kids head. The little kid couldn’t control the hummer and crashed into a store. Stripes parked his minivan and  hopped off into the store, the store was called Ricks Amazing Pools.

Stripes was so excited he walked around looking for the manager. Stripes said “ May I please have one of your amazing pools”. The manager said “ Um …. sure you might as well take one for free since someone crashed in to our store”. Stripes ran grabbed a 100 by 100 metre inflatable pool and drove off. Stripes headed to Amazons big trees to steal a pine tree. When stripes got there he went to the closest pine tree used his super strength to throw it right back to his house.Stripes was lucky they haven't installed security cameras just a old sleepy security guard. Stripes headed off home when he got there he realised he forgot the ferrari. He was sad but from out of no where he saw the little kid from the hummer driving a small shiny red ferrari he grabbed a pan approached and made himself look cute. When he got there the little kid said” Hey aren’t you” but before he could finish his sentence Stripes smashed him with the pan. He grabbed the ferrari and went to the backyard. He inflated the pool parked the ferrari and climbed up the tree. Stripes was going to dive 5 4 3 2 1 he dived towards the pool when bam The little kid threw a rock at his arm and stole back his ferrari. Ever since then he spent his day with a cast on his arm laying on the couch. Stripes swore he wouldn’t ever go near a tree and never  steal to.

Narrative Writing

Once in the Pacific Ocean there was a boat with 4 kids in it. Leki,Lopeti,Simione and Jay, they were heading towards an island called the land of lost souls. They had been forced to go because they had stolen gold and they all had to go and get killed by demons as their punishment. They arrived on Friday the 13th this was the one day all demons would kill everyone so there was not one living human on the island. The boys hopped off into the island they felt a strong gust blow right in front of them it was a lost soul. “Welcome to the island of lost souls” said simione. “ Lets go find some shelter to rest for the night” said Jay. They headed off looking for a big tree they found one but there was a rope connected to one of the big branches on the tree. “ Someone died here” Said Lopeti. But they were exhausted and really wanted to sit down so they lied down and tried to fall asleep. “ Morning guys” said Leki, leki saw only simione was there the other two disappeared. A scary voice said “ It’s still Friday the 13th and look up”. The two boys slowly looked up it was Lopeti and Jay with their hands tied to a slim branch about to be dropped on to the rope.

Leki and Simione ran as fast as they could in the woods when wham Simione was sucked into a grave. Leki screamed he couldn’t believe his friends were gone. Leki panicked he ran to the water shouted “ Lopeti……. Jay……….SIMIONE”. He sat down and wondered why they had to go. He grabbed some sticks and lit a fire and tried to keep himself warm he was getting hungry he wanted to eat a hamburger, chips with a large coke “ Man I’m hungry” He said. Leki noticed his fire was growing bigger and bigger it spreaded all around the sand he moved back slowly screaming out “ HELP HELP” when all of a sudden the fire turned into fog and spreaded all over the water and from distance 3 body’s on long sticks approached it was Lopeti,Jay and simione’s lost souls. Leki said “ Oh Man why me …..WHY ME!!!” His heart was beating faster and faster as they approached a tear slowly fell down his face. They were at the shore he knew his life was over and there was  nothing he could do. but from the ocean he heard “ Hi you are on prank tv and you just got pranked”.

Changing teachers

Today is our last day with Miss Leaupepe because she has a new job at the National Library. On Monday we have a new teacher his name is Mr Slade. This morning we had a special mass to farewell Miss Leaupepe and to welcome Mr Slade and our new priest. We are very sad that she is leaving but life goes on. I'm excited to have a male teacher because most of the teachers at school are female I like that he likes sport because we might get to do a lot of active stuff with him.

Taiwan's holiday

Today I am going to tell you about Taiwan’s holiday. In the holidays Taiwan's holiday he went to Tauranga with his family for one week. He stayed with his cousins in Tauranga. He also watched Despicable me 2 at Hoyts cinemas in Sylvia park . He thought it was funny because the minions kept on poking their tongues out and making noises.

Taiwan's highlights were playing fetch with his cousins dog  and sitting on the rocking chair while someone pushed him really high Taiwan liked it because it felt like he was on the pirate ship at Rainbows end.Taiwan also enjoyed watching Ninjago because he thought the green ninja was really cool.He also enjoyed going on  a laptop and getting to keep it with him for two days because he had it all to himself.

Taiwan's low light was having to come back from Tauranga because he really enjoyed his visit and wanted it to be much longer.

Taiwan’s dream holiday would be going to America with his whole family for a vacation and the holiday would be long so that they enjoy their visit there and explore around.

Egg thinking

Group members
Justin, Taiwan, and I (Leki)
Equipment
Cotton balls, PVA glue, tissues, a tissue box, paint brush, Tape.
How did you use your equipment? Explain your steps.
First we put glue all around the egg.
Then we put the cotton balls all over the egg.
Next We put on another layer of glue.
After that we Put on tissues for extra protection and we also taped it so it would hold.
When we finished that we put in the tissue box.
Then we put a tissue in the hole and taped it.
The final step was we glued the bottom of the box and put on cotton balls and tissues to give it a soft landing when it falls.
Did your creation successfully protect your egg from cracking?
No it didn’t.
Why was it successful/not successful?
It wasn’t successful because I might of put on too much tape around the egg and it must of put pressure on it and cracked it.
What would you change for next time?
I would put cotton balls and tissues around the whole box and put tissues inside of the tissue box.
I also would've put on less tape around the egg.
What was your favourite part of this challenge?
Getting my hands sticky and dropping it from the top of the door.

Term Reflection

In Term 2, my highlights was soccer with Courtney because we got to learn some skills in soccer and because we got to play against others in soccer. Another highlight for term 2 was having speakers come in to talk about being successful. I liked having them come in because they showed us variety of jobs we could do in the future and they all came from different communities. My favourite speaker was Nickson from Mai fm because he made his job sound exciting and made me want to join the radio.

In Term 2, my lowlights was having singing practice for our masses because we had to sit in a spot for a long time and sing songs. I also did not like it because I don't like learning songs I have never heard and then having to sing it over and over. Another lowlight was swimming because most of the time I didn’t  swim because I might get sick.

In Term 3, Im looking forward for doing kiwi sport because we get to spend some of our day playing sport and having fun.Im also looking forward to cross country because we get to do running and I love running short and long  distances.

Water Spouts

Water Spouts

A waterspout is like a Tornado but appears over the water it, It is a pillar of wet air that connects to a cloud. It is described as if it is a magic beanstalk.

There are two kinds of waterspouts  - Non Tornadic and Tornadic. They both need different kinds of weather. Most waterspouts are Non Tornadic and are less dangerous than  Tornadic waterspouts. Tornadic waterspouts can suck up schools of fish.

You need perfect conditions for a waterspout. The air needs to be warm and slightly windy and there should be  Cumulous clouds, (puffy clouds with a flat base).

There are 5 stages for a waterspout to appear. The first stage would be that there would be dark areas in the water. In the second stage spiral patterns would appear in the water. The third stage would be that the air would go horizontally and would spin. The fourth stage would be that the spout would be seen but it would kind of be transparent. The fifth stage would be the funnel will weaken and it would rain and the warmth of the air would feed the waterspout and would only last for ten minutes.

Images of God in the N.T

John :10-1-18

The Good Shepherd and His Sheep

10 “Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. 2 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” 6 Jesus used this figure of speech, but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them.
7 Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. 8 All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.[a] They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.
14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. 17 The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”

The image of God in this scripture is a shepherd who loves and cares for his sheep  He does anything to keep them safe.

Michelle's visit

On Friday we had a guest speaker who spoke to us about how she became successful. The speaker was Michelle. She is 32 years old and works for Niu FM in Manukau City. She is a sound engineer and a stand up comedian. The minute she walked through the door she made us laugh with one of her jokes. She is a Cook Islander but her dad is English. Michelle went to university and studied hard so that she could work for a radio station. She told us that it is hard to get job to work on the radio. She wants to be the CEO of Niu FM so she works really hard so that  she can become  the CEO. We asked her a lot of questions like If she likes to read and if she wanted to work for the radio when she was young. When she was growing up she had always liked entertainment and that was a career she wanted to be apart of. She told us later on about her family she has two children and two dogs and is a single mum. She likes to embarrass her children but her mum likes to do the same thing to her. At work she works with a lot of Pacific Islanders because it is a Pacific Island radio station. She gets to meet  a lot of celebrities and most of them are kiwi. To me Michelle is an inspiration to people who want to be successful because she is successful.

Description

Usain Bolt is an athlete who competes in the Olympics in the 100 metre sprint.Bolt has moves that he does at the end of every run I see him as a very confident person. Usain looks very fit and healthy. Before he runs he does the sign of the cross.

Usain Bolt has dark brown skin and very short hair. Bolt is also Jamaican. The colours he wears at the Olympics are green, yellow and black. Usain is sponsored so that is where he gets his clothes to wear in the Olympics. I am not sure who he is sponsored by.

Right now Bolt is the fastest man alive with a personal and world record of just over 9 seconds in the 100 metre sprint. Bolt is as fast as cheetah. When I grow I want to be like Bolt but I want to represent New Zealand.

Catholic schools day

Today was Catholic schools day and St Josephs school from Orakei came to celebrate it with us.They arrived at our school at 11 am and we had a mass with them.We sang some songs and some people went up to the front and said a reading. They also came along with their priest Father terry.

When I saw them waiting to go into the church I  was surprised, because they were'nt much like our school. We had mostly Samoans and Tongans but they  had mixed cultures. After the mass was finished we all had lunch together with them and we were paired up with a class room 1.Room 1 was a year six class.I met some people like Dominic,Ken and Marlon.During lunch I played rugby with some kids from St Pius and some kids from St Josephs.

After lunch we all went to the hall for a concert.Their whole school sang Count On Me by Bruno Mars.We sang I’m yours and we sang a Tongan song. There kapa haka group performed a Maori song it was really nice.I really enjoyed having them come to our school.

Learning to summarise with key words

Josef Azam is a man who went from struggling with money to being a very successful man. He worked three jobs just to pay his money for uni, that shows a lot of determination and perseverance. He grew up in an area where people had money but he did'nt. A lot of people said he was just lucky but to him luck has nothing to do with it  and that is true. To be successful you have sacrifice everything and never even think about giving up. Everyone tells him he has achieved success but he would love to achieve greatness. But when you become successful you should never forget your past because that is the one thing that will push you. That is just one story about someone who is a inspiration to everyone.
